91459: Ann Martin

Ann (1875-1971) was the daughter of John Martin and Isabella Macleod; it is not clear where the family were living at the time of her birth.

In 1877, after the previous occupants moved to Stornoway, the family obtained 76 North Tolsta.

Isabella married John Macdonald of 12 North Tolsta and settled there with him; the couple had eight children: six girls and two boys.

Ann was widowed in 1916. She passed 12 North Tolsta to her eldest son, John. John left the family home, but Ann continued to lived there with her daughter Johanna and Johannas’s husband: Alexander.

In 1951 Johanna and her husband bought Fernlea, North Tolsta and Ann moved there with them.
