Murdo Murray
Murdo (born 1837) was a son of Murdo Murray and Gormelia Campbell of 2 Old North Tolsta.
In 1853 the family obtained 7 North Tolsta in the croft relottings.
Murdo married Henrietta Mackenzie, of 39 North Tolsta, and the couple had five children: three boys and two girls. However, it is not clear where the family home was in 1866, when their eldest child was born. 39 North Tolsta eventually passed to Murdo, from his father-in-law Murdo Mackenzie, in, or prior to, 1873.
Murdo was widowed in 1875 and emigrated, that year, to the Eastern Townships of Quebec. Murdo had two brothers, Donald and John, who also emigrated to Canada. 39 North Tolsta passed to John Graham.
Once in Quebec he married Christina Maclean, who had links to Carnish, Uig, Murdo and Christina had seven children: three girls and four boys. Murdo settled in Whitton.
