90753: John Campbell

John (1837-1913) was the son of John Campbell and Jessie Macleod; it is not certain where the family were living at the time of his birth. Both of his parents had previously lived in Old South Tolsta.

In 1841 the family obtained 21 Old North Tolsta.

In 1851, during the croft relottings, the family obtained 54 North Tolsta.

He married Catherine Macdonald, of 1 North Tolsta, and the couple settled at 54 North Tolsta and had one daughter. His wife died in 1874 the same year their child was born.

His second marriage was to Isabella Graham, of 9 North Tolsta, the couple settled at 54 North Tolsta and had eight children: one girl and seven boys.

In due course 54 North Tolsta passed to his eldest son: John.
