John Macleod (1922-1983) was a son of Murdo Macleod and Janet Kennedy, 37 Gravir.
His mother died in 1924 and the family moved to 35 Gravir.
John served with the Merchant Navy during the Second World War and his name is mentioned in Roll of Honour: Pairc, Second World War.
He later worked as a Lighthouse Keeper at Gravir.
In Lochs, in 1948, he married Isabella Macphail, 19 Gravir. John and Isabella settled at 35 Gravir and they had three children.
