Mary (1828-1873) was a daughter of John Matheson and Isabella Macdonald, 3 Old Gravir at Tumanuadan. Her father died and in the 1852 Lotting her mother obtained 31 Gravir.
In Lochs, in 1858, she married Donald Nicolson, 9 Lemreway. Mary and Donald settled at 26 Lemreway and they had seven children.
The family were moved to 15 Lemreway due to non-payment of rent.
In 1871 Mary's blind mother was living with the family,
