77778: Rachel MacKinnon

Rachel was born in 1875, the daughter of Roderick MacKinnon and Mary Morrison. Rachel was born in Rodel, before the family were based for a time in Auchterawe. By the time Rachel was 7 years old the family had moved to Lamerick on the island of Berneray. Rachel remained unmarried, becoming a domestic servant, working for Reverend Murdo Morrison in 1891. Later she worked as cleaner at Berneray School and a wool spinner. The house at Lamerick passed to her following her parents’ death.
