77474: Alexander MacMillan
Alexander, born about 1811, was the son of John MacMillan and Marion Dingwall of old Borve. Alexander married Isabella MacLeod of Skye, with whom he was to have eight children. Alexander became a cowherd, shepherd and gamekeeper, working at Ardennish by 1850. A few years later the family returned to Berneray, to a newly built home at ‘house 77’ Ferry.
The house later passed to son William.
