Marion was born in 1870, the daughter of John MacLeod and Rachel Paterson of Quay. Marion became a domestic servant and married fisherman Norman MacLeod of 30 Backhill in 1895. Norman passed away less than three years later.
In 1901 she married widower Hugh MacLean of 3 Quidinish, Harris, which is presumably where they made their home.
