Roderick MacLeod
Roderick was born in 1854, the eldest child of James MacLeod and Salvia MacLean of Ardhasaig. The family moved to Quay on the island of Berneray when Roderick was about ten years old. During the 1870s they moved again, to Newton Farm, North Uist. Roderick married Catherine Laing from 9 Knockintorran, with whom he settled in Midhinis.
