Catherine was born about 1795, the daughter of Alexander Morrison and Effie MacKinnon of old Borve. She married Donald MacKillop, also of old Borve, with whom she was to have three children. However, in the early 1850s, the tenants were cleared from Borve, and the family was removed to the northern part of Berneray, to Quay, then on to Baile. Catherine died of consumption in 1863.
