76466: Allan MacLeod

Allan, born 1858,  was the son of John MacLeod and Mary MacLeod of Baile. In 1875 the family moved to Lamerick. A shoemaker, Allan was also a weaver, with his own loom. A bard himself, he was a good friend of the bard Malcolm MacAskill, who often accompanied Allan and his brother Murdo Mòr on fishing and hunting expeditions.

Allan remained unmarried, being passed the house at Lamerick following his parents’ deaths. He was guardian to his sister Ann’s son Neil Turner and step-son John.
