76378: Donald John MacAskill
Donald John MacAskill was born in 1914, the son of Kenneth MacAskill and Christina MacLeod of 6 Rhuvanish. He was a pupil at Berneray School between 1921 and 1928, leaving for Kingussie Higher Grade School. During the Second World War he served on a minesweeper.
Following his parents’ death he was passed 6 Rhuvanish, and later 21/22 Ruisgarry (Ben Leva) from his aunt Mary. In due course, he also inherited 15 Rhuvanish (adjacent to number 6) from his brother John Archie.
The croft at Ben Leva passed to his cousin.
