Neil MacLeod, born 1770, was the son of Angus MacLeod. Neil married Effie Fraser, with whom he was to have at least six children.
By 1818 Neil held a tenancy in Borve, where he was paying annual rental of £5 10s. By 1830 he had moved to Ruisgarry, where he had a croft at Brusda, paying £6 5s each year. He is shown as a farmer in the 1841 census, and is believed to have passed away about 1845.
