7606: Angus Mackay

Aonghas Dhòmhnaill Iain

Angus  (1911-1933) was a son of  Donald Mackay and Catherine Chisholm, 28 Gravir. The croft at 4b Calbost was passed to Angus.

On June 17, 1930 he enrolled in the Royal Naval Reserve Service Number AX15279. His record indicates that he was 5 ft 7½ in tall with darkish fair hair, green eyes and a fresh complexion. Angus was a fisherman on Stornoway registered fishing boats and was discharged in 1932 due to ill health.

Angus was admitted to the Sanitorium in Stornoway and died of Tuberculosis aged 21.
