Mary (1872-1944) was a daughter of John Mackay and Isabella Maclennan, 28 Gravir. In the late 1870s the family obtained 41 Gravir and the two crofts were merged registered under 28 Gravir.
At Fraserburgh, in 1894, she married John Macaskill of 26 Gravir. Mary and John settled at 26 Gravir and they had five daughters. The family moved to Goathill Road, Stornoway in 1911.
