Ann was born in 1869, the daughter of Duncan MacLeod and Catherine Paterson of 16 Ruisgarry (Brusda). She became a domestic servant, then a weaveress. In 1904 she married widower Roderick MacKinnon from 2 Deiraclete, which is presumably where they made their home.
