75111: John Bàn MacAskill
John Bàn was the youngest child of Angus MacAskill and Marion Munro, cottars on 11/12 Ruisgarry (Quay). As a young boy, he moved with his family to 6 Borve, which his father obtained in 1900. John Bàn was a pupil at Berneray School between 1901 and 1911. After taking part in the Great War, serving with the Royal Naval Reserves, he emigrated to Halifax, Nova Scotia.
