74535: Roderick Munro

Roderick, born 1876, was the son of Lachlan Munro and Ann Ferguson, cottars on 3 Ruisgarry. The family later moved to 10 Borve, which his father obtained in 1900.

Roderick was working as an agricultural worker at the time of his marriage to Flora MacDonald of 8 Knockline, North Uist. He was thought to be the best shot on the island of Berneray. His favourite spot for the shooting of solan geese was Leac Bhàn Chraiginnis. 10 Borve was passed to Roderick following the death of his father in 1938.
