74166: Margaret MacKillop

Margaret MacKillop, born 1796, was the daughter of Norman MacKillop. Margaret married Alexander Paterson, with whom she was to have at least four children. They tenanted a croft in Borve, which Margaret continued to tenant following Alexander’s death. The site of their home was later known as Tobhta Alasdair ‘ic Thormoid. 

By 1851 Margaret was a widow, living with her son Norman’s family in Inaclete Road, Stornoway. She passed away on Harris in 1863.
