William MacPherson from Hopeman or Burghead married Una MacKenzie of 6 Bayhead, Stornoway. Together they were to have two children. William was a deep sea fisherman and they lived for a few years in Mallaig before moving to Berneray in 1926, when they became cottars on Una's aunt Jessie's croft at 8 Ruisgarry (Baile).
