Norman was born in Tobson to Norman and Catherine nee Maclean. The family moved to Lundale when it was lotted in 1892.
Norman emigrated in 1906 to Montana and later moved to Canada where he homesteaded south of Ardill in 1908 .
He was married to Mary Ann nee Macaulay, Kirkibost; with issue.
