73603: Malcolm Campbell

Malcolm was born in 1876, the youngest son of Finlay Campbell and his first wife Margaret Munro, cottars on 1/2 Ruisgarry (Sandhill). Malcolm’s mother died just a week after his fifth birthday.

Malcolm became a yachtsman and fisherman, staying at Quarry, Backhill. He married Ann MacLeod of 5 Borve at Dunvegan in 1905. Ann died the following year, a few days after the birth of their son, Finlay Neil. Malcolm’s sister Christina moved to his home in order to help care for the child.

0n 19th December 1911 Malcolm remarried. His second wife was Christina MacAskill of Rubha Mor. Together they were to have eight children. In 1924 the family moved to 3 Cheesebay.
