72895: Ann MacLeod
Ann MacLeod was born in 1866, the eldest child of Murdo MacLeod and his second wife Ann Munro, cottars on 1/2 Ruisgarry (Sandhill). She became a domestic servant and married carpenter Alexander Paterson of Pol an Oir. Together they were to have five children. In 1900 Alexander was lotted a new croft at 15 Borve, to which the family moved.
Ann was regarded as Berneray’s finest folklorist of her day.
