Margaret MacLeod

Margaret MacLeod

Margaret MacLeod was born in 1854, the daughter of Murdo MacLeod and Marion MacKay, cottars on 1/2 Ruisgarry (Sandhill).

She became a farm servant, then domestic servant, and married Archibald Munro in 1884. Together they had four children before her husband's death in 1890. At the time of the 1891 census it appears that she and her children were living on her brother-in-law John's croft, 20 Ruisgarry (Brusda), which passed to her in 1899. Margaret was working as a wool spinner in 1911.

Croft 20 was later passed to daughter Marion.
