Roderick (born c1882) was a son of John Macdonald and Ann Macleod, 6 Crowlista. He served with the Royal Naval Reserve (RNR) during the First World War.

Roderick was married twice. His first wife was Christina Macritchie, 5 Crowlista, who died in childbirth; his second wife was Rachel Macdonald, 20 Crowlista, with whom he had two sons. He was an elder in the Church of Scotland, Miavaig.
