Margaret, known as Maggie, was the younger daughter of Roderick Robertson and Christina MacAskill of Quay. Born in 1905, she attended Berneray School between 1911 and 1919. She married John MacLeod, also of Quay, and they settled at 5 Lever Terrace, Leverburgh.
