71758: Mary Ann MacIsaac
Mary Ann MacIsaac, born in 1906, was the daughter of Archie MacIsaac and Mary Ann Munro of 1 Kyles Paible.
Her mother died soon after Mary Ann was born, so she and her siblings stayed with maternal relatives on Berneray. Mary Ann attended Berneray School from 1913 to 1920 under the guardianship of her uncle John Munro and aunt Mary, with whom she was living at 19 Ruisgarry (Brusda). She was passed 7 Ruisgarry (Lag a’ Chealla) following the death of her aunt in 1944.
Mary Ann married Donald Alick MacDonald from Middle Quarter, North Uist in 1930, and their daughter May was born the following year. She and her daughter are remembered on a headstone in the old cemetery at Sandhill in Ruisgarry.
