70863: John MacAskill
John MacAskill was born in 1877, the only child of Duncan MacAskill and Mary Ann MacLeod of 7 Ruisgarry (Lag a’ Chealla) and then 7/2 Ruisgarry (Lag a’ Chealla). He became a farm labourer, marrying Marion MacAskill in 1907. They lived with his parents at Lag a’Chealla, where their daughter was born. They also had a son who was to die in infancy following a premature birth. John died of appendicitis in 1909.
