John, son of Malcolm Smith and Henrietta Macleod, 11 Doune Carloway was married to Catherine Macleod, 9 Enaclete, Uig who died shortly after their daughter Mary was born. He then married Margaret Maclennan, 9 Doune Carloway. When Doune was cleared in 1853, John moved to 45 Upper Carloway.
