70309: Catherine MacLeod

Catherine, born about 1812, was the daughter of Duncan MacLeod and Mary MacLeod of old Ruisgarry. She married Kenneth MacAskill, with whom she was to have a family of seven children. They made their home in old Ruisgarry before moving to 9 Ruisgarry (Gunhill) which Kenneth obtained in 1850. Later they moved to 11/12 Ruisgarry (Quay). Catherine worked as a weaveress, and taught the skills to her grand-daughter Christina MacAskill, who lived with her from childhood.

Catherine died of supposed consumption in 1891.
