69747: Norman MacLeod

Norman was born in 1892, the son of Donald MacLeod and Margaret MacLeod of Quarry, then 24 Borve. He attended Berneray School between 1898 and 1907.

Norman MacLeod married Mary MacAskill, with whom he had a daughter. Mary’s father passed them the house on 4a Ruisgarry (Tarraloch). Norman owned  the Geò​la a’ Chook and also the White Swan, which was passed down from his father.

Norman worked for a time in the gold mines of Alaska. He was also a ship’s cook, settling in Glasgow.
