68998: Marion MacAskill

Marion MacAskill, born about 1836, was the daughter of Neil MacAskill and Marion MacAskill of old Ruisgarry. Her father obtained 4 Ruisgarry (Tarraloch) in 1850, to which the family moved. In 1864 she married John MacAskill with whom she was to have ten children, including two sets of twin daughters.

They became cottars on his parents’ croft at 11/12 Ruisgarry (Quay), before being passed the croft itself in 1875.
