68891: Kenneth MacAskill

Kenneth MacAskill, son of Neil MacAskill and Marion MacAskill, was born in old Borve in 1825. The family later moved to old Ruisgarry, and subsequently to the croft at 4 Ruisgarry (Tarraloch), which his father was allotted in 1850.

Kenneth married Christina (surname unknown), and they emigrated to Australia with their young son Norman. They sailed on the Royal Albert, which left Liverpool in August 1855, arriving in Adelaide in December the same year.

Note: Kenneth’s name is shown as Donald in the Highlands and Islands Emigration Society records. However, Kenneth’s younger brother Donald remained on Berneray.
