Peter (1899-1963) was a son of Duncan Maclean and Annabella MacLeod of 6 South Shawbost. Peter emigrated to Detroit, where, in 1929, he married Ann Macleod of 7 Kirvick. The couple returned to 6 South Shawbost; they had six children. Peter inherited the croft at 6 Shawbost.
