Kenneth was born in 1866, the son of John MacLeod and Marion Ferguson of 1/2 Ruisgarry (Sandhill).
The 1891 census gives his occupation as a crofter, and his sister Christina, not yet married, was acting as his housekeeper. In later years he moved to Tarbert, close to his sister Christina’s new home.
