Margaret MacLeod
Margaret, otherwise Peggy, born about 1854, was the eldest child of John MacLeod and Marion Ferguson of 1/2 Ruisgarry (Sandhill).
Peggy became a domestic servant, marrying Alexander MacLean in 1881. With him she was to have ten children. They made their home on his father's croft, 18 Ruisgarry (Brusda) before moving to 8 Borve, which her husband obtained in 1900. Peggy was remembered by Alick Morrison in his book An Ribheid Chiuil as being 'a lady of generosity, charm and much business acumen'. Her son Norman named his boat Peigi for her.
