Donald (1906-1990) was a son of Donald Matheson and Ann Nicolson, 27 Gravir.

He enrolled in the Royal Naval Reserve, Service Number A11675,  on April 7, 1924 giving 1904 as his year of birth. His service record indicates that he was 5ft 7in tall with brown eyes and a dark complexion. Donald was a fisherman on Banff, Buckie and Stornoway registered fishing boats including the Roselea.

He served in the Royal Navy throughout the Second World War and is mentioned in Roll of Honour: Pairc, Second Word War.

Donald was a bachelor and lived with his Uncle Murdo, Uncle Duncan and Aunt Mary at 11 Gravir. Latterly his two nephews, Donald John and Duncan lived with him at 11 Gravir.
