Murdo was a son of John who relocated from Valtos to Gravir c1773. The following is an excerpt from ‘Genealogies of the Mathesons;

Murdoch who served in the batallion of the 78th (Seaforth) Highlanders raised in 1793-94, remembered in tradition as Saighdeirean Mhic Choinnich Bodhair, and of whom there is no further trace.
