Malcolm son of Murdo was, like his paternal uncle, known as ‘Calum Ban’ and ‘Calum Breabadair’. He is probably the Malcolm McCurchie Ken in a list of Valtos kelp-makers dated 1770 but by 1780 he was resident in Crowlista.

Malcolm was married to Ann nee Mackay from Valtos; with issue.
