65746: John Mackay

John (born 1831) and was a son of Murdo Mackay and Flora Macarthur.

John and his family lived in Uigen, where he and his brother Angus were registered for baptism. 

The family latterly lived in Reef. When Reef was cleared in the late 1840s, the family relocated to Brue, where they were enumerated in the census of 1851. However, they didn’t remain there and it is not known where they subsequently settled.
