Donald (born c1850) was the eldest son of Norman Macleod and Catherine Macleod, 2 Old Mangersta. In 1861, he moved with his family to 12 Old Mangersta and in 1872, when the village was cleared, to 1 Doune Carloway.
Donald’s first wife was Ann Martin, 6 Borrowston and they resided at 3 Callanish, where he also lived with his second wife, Catherine Macarthur, 8b Tolsta Chaolais.
