He is recorded in the Reef farm tenant list of 1824 as Murdo Maciver snr. - the owner of four head of cattle and three sheep. He may have had a son Murdo as a 'Murdo Maciver jnr. owner of four head of cattle and five sheep' is recorded on the same list.
