Mary (1816-1893) was a daughter of Donald Macaulay and Marion Macleod who lived at, A Bhuaile Chlach, Kneep before relocating to 19 New Shawbost. She was married to Murdo Mackay, 7 Garynahine and they were enumerated in Sandate, Doune (or 2 Doune) in 1841 with the following children:

John (born 1837); Christina (born 1839) and Catherine (born 1841). In 1851 they were in Garynahine with two additional children: Ann (born 1843) and Malcolm (born 1849). In 1861 they were still in Garynahine with Christina; Catherine; Malcolm and an additional child, Mary (born 1856).

By 1871 they had relocated to Laimishader.
