John (1806-1904) was a son of Angus Maclennan and Catherine Macdonald. John married twice, firstly to Ann Macleod from Gisla and secondly to Helen Macarthur from Bosta; John had a total of seven children – two by Ann (Angus and Hanna), and five by Helen. This family settled at 8 Kirkibost.
