Charles (1903-1977) was a son of George Mackenzie and Mary Macfarlane, 14 Marvig.
He enrolled in the Royal Naval Reserve Service Number A11635 on March 7, 1924 and re-enrolled under B7264, C6575 and D6117. His records indicate that he was 5ft 8½ in tall with brown hair, dark blue eyes and a fresh complexion. Charles was a fisherman on Stornoway registered boats, including the Cawdor Castle, the Lady Marjorie, the Starlight Rays and the Beautiful, until he was Mobilised on September 29, 1938.
He served in the Royal Navy on Boom Defence in the Second World War. Charles was based at HMS Pyramus in Orkney. George is mentioned in Roll of Honour: Pairc, Second World War.
He was a bachelor.
