Roderick Finlayson

Roderick Finlayson (1894-1962) was a son of John Finlayson and Catherine Macfarlane, 8 Marvig.

During the First World War Roderick was a Merchant seaman and served with Royal Naval Reserve based at Liverpool on HMS Eaglet and overseas in India, Egypt and the Dardanelles. His name is mentioned in Loyal Lewis.

Roderick was one of the survivors of the Iolaire Disaster of 1st January 1919

He emigrated to Canada and settled at Vancouver with his wife Jean Munro, ex Melvaig, Wester Ross.
