Alasdair Alasdair Duinn

Alexander  (1900-1956) was a son of Alexander Kennedy and Flora Mackinnon, 4 Marvig.

On July 23, 1918 he enrolled in the Royal Naval Reserve when he was 18 under Service Number DA20976. His record indicates that he was 5 ft 5 in tall with hazel eyes and a fresh complexion. Alexander served in the Royal Navy in the First World War until October 17, 1919. He was based at HMS Pembroke, HMS Vivid III and HMS St George and served aboard HMS Idaho, HMS Europa and HMS Egmont. Alexander is mentioned in Loyal Lewis: Roll of Honour 1914-1918.

He was a headteacher in Gravir School from November 1943 until his death in 1956. The school log gives an indication of his attempts to re-stock the school.
