Ruaraidh Dhonnachaidh Iain

Roderick (1913-1943) was a son of Duncan Macleod and Marion Macinnes, 30 Lemreway.

He served with the Merchant Navy during the Second World War and was lost when MV Empire Mordred was sunk off Gibraltar on February 8, 1943.

Roderick was aged 29, his name is commemorated on the Tower Hill Memorial, the Pairc War Memorial and the Lewis War Memorial, Stornoway.
