5862: John Kennedy

Iain Ruaridh Ruaridh

John (1881-1917) was a son of Roderick Kennedy and Catherine Maclennan, 15 Marvig.

At Stornoway, in 1910, he married Margaret Macleod, 24 Gravir. John and Margaret settled at 24 Gravir and they had five children.

John served with the Royal Horse Artillery in the First World War. He was returned home wounded and terminally ill with Cancer. His name is commemorated in  Loyal Lewis: Roll of Honour 1914-1918, on the Pairc War Memorial and the Lewis War Memorial in Stornoway.
