5818: Peter Gillies
Peter, born 1866, was a son of John and Ann nee Macaulay who relocated from Bosta to 6 Kirkibost. He assumed tenancy of the croft and, as there was no issue from his marriage to Dolina, the croft was willed to his nephew Peter John Macleod, son of his sister Margaret. Peter John predeceased his uncle and the croft went to his widow Ina who sold it to Dolina Maclean 16 Kirkibost, who subsequently sold it to Rev. Donald Macaulay.
Peter and his wife Dolina died within an hour of each other.
The Gillies family used the sheiling known as Airigh Padruig Iain Ghiollais.
